Membership & Training

The Castor & Ailsworth club ethos is to provide good facilities for club members at an affordable rate. The club is friendly, inclusive and focussed on providing equal access to the facilities for players of all standards and ages. There are also a number of gala and social events organised by the club committee.

The clubhouse is located down a gravel drive just off Holme Close. There are two grass courts and an enclosed hard court that has recently been resurfaced. The club also has access to the Woodlands facilities and 4 hardcourts located off Splash Lane, Castor.

There are no restrictions on who can join and no 'minimum standard' Tennis activities include friendly social practice, internal league ladders, coaching and entry into local leagues – so there is a variety of choice for what ever tennis you wish to play.


 

Membership benefits

  • Members have access to all 3 courts at Holme Close as well as the opportunity to play on hard courts at Woodlands for £3.50 per hour
    Membership is open to anyone wanting to join – no need to “audition”
  • Members can reserve the hard court up to once a week (per member) up to 2 weeks ahead
    Members can bring up to one visitor each to play at the club on an occasional basis.
    Members of suitable standard can represent the club in the leagues
    Occasional coaching is provided for juniors and seniors each summer, dependent on coach availability and numbers
    Social events occur throughout the summer, including gala days, internal competitions and BBQ’s
    Christmas dinner
    An internal summer doubles competition is organised most years for those who want to play some friendly matches with other members.
    The hard court (and 4 hard courts at Woodlands) are available throughout the winter

Membership rates

£75 Family (2 adults and up to 3 children resident at same address)
£38 Single Senior
£25 single junior (under 18 and full time students)
